Watch: 365 Days Straight

How Matt Haymes conquered the COVID blues by hitting the water

Like many expats with businesses in Bali, Matt Haymes, was hit hard by COVID.

Matt is originally a shaper from the Sydney’s northern beaches but these days he’s based in Uluwatu, where he leases accommodation and operates a restaurant.. With no tourists travelling to Bali and business grinding to a halt, Matt felt compelled to embark on a surfing quest that that would sustain his spirit and preserve his sanity. In the inspiring clip attached he provides a frank insight into the plight of the tourism industry in Bali and articulates how he cultivated a positive mindset in a challenging time. Who knows? After watching Matt, perhaps some of you will be compelled to take on your own 365-day challenge.

“It definitely makes you mentally and spiritually stronger and therefore better equipped to deal with the curve balls life throws your way.” Matt Haymes
