The Tracks Party Tour hits Newcastle this weekend for another night of madness with headliners Rum Jungle playing to what is set to be a raucous home crowd. The steel city band will be bringing their gritty alt-rock anthems, heartfelt ballads and everything in between to the Beach Hotel in Merewether on Friday 6 June. They will be supported by Big Wheels, Headsend and Nana Klumpp. Purchase tickets here.
Rum Jungle started in 2017 when the group competed in a local song writing contest. The opportunity led them to playing a live show and they’ve been making music together ever since. They’ve had the opportunity to perform around the world and have topped the bill at a number of our Tracks parties this year. The boys describe their sound as ‘Newcastle Indie Rock’ taking inspiration from the likes of Cage The Elephant, The Strokes and Beach Boys.
We sat down with them during our most recent Tracks Party in Coolangatta to learn more about them:
And if you’re still unsure on what to expect from Rum Jungle and a Tracks Party then check out their performance of ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ live at our most recent event.
Our Newy show will also be hosted by Ain’t That Swells’ Jed Smith, the larrikin voice of surfing culture, who is set to bring heaps of shenanigans.
There will be tons of giveaways from our partners including a Burzerk e-bike worth almost $4,000. Anyone who buys a ticket to any stop on the tour will be automatically entered into a draw for a chance to win.
Tracks Parties are powered by CASA, Rip Curl, Yeti, Burzerk, Surfers for Climate & Ain’t That Swell.
