A surfer has narrowly escaped the bite of a suspected four meter great white shark this morning at a Northern NSW beach after the predator took a chunk out of his mid length.
The incident occurred shortly before 7.30am during a sunny, glassy and crystal clear morning at Cabarita Beach. Fortunately, Brad Ross, the surfer involved, left the incident completely unscathed.
The attack was captured on the Surfline Camera. Although its zoomed out and pixelated you can clearly make out the thrashing around in the white wash as the shark went for Brad’s board. You can check out the footage below.
This is the second shark attack in Cabarita in two months. At the end of June a teenage boy suffered multiple injuries when he was attacked by a bull shark which stalked him all the way to shore at a popular beach in the town. However, the weather conditions during June’s attack were a complete contrast to the postcard worthy winter sunshine in Cabarita today.
Following today’s incident a drone captured the shark swimming close by, which you can check out below.
