In 1989 after being Advertising and Marketing Manager for a good part of the 80’s he left Quiksilver and began freelancing for himself. What followed was the formation of Joli Productions and a lifestyle on the road with his wife Jan, creating one of the most comprehensive photo libraries of the sport. From World Tour Events to free surfing Joli‘s collection is staggering. What’s also impressive is he was filing stories from remote places on earth way before digital cameras, email and websites. Combined with his love for travel, he has produced a planet-wide portfolio capable of transporting the observer all over the globe. Nowadays you’d be hard-pressed to find a stock photography site hosting more generational surf and ocean images than Joli‘s. With over 30 years of freelancing up his sleeve, Joli‘s seen a lot on the road. From Slater’s 11 World Titles to two of the biggest swells to ever hit Cloudbreak in Fiji to being invited by pro surfers to shoot a rare east swell that lit up a Tahitian reef break during a Teahupo’o contest waiting period – all a testament to the solid relationships he’s formed with Surfing’s elite. It’s access to all areas for Joli and no, there isn’t a Media Pass for this…

The Framing Process

Your Print will be expertly framed with your choice of a sustainable timber frame. Then it will be finished with lightweight, optically clear, museum grade acrylic which offers 95% protection against UV rays. It will undergo one final inspection, before being securely packed for shipping. If your print is not being framed, it will be carefully rolled with cotton interleave and placed into a cylinder for delivery.

TIMBER FRAMES

We have selected three framing options that we believe complement the images perfectly and allow them to really stand out. With both white, black and Tassie oak options, our quality framing suits a range of settings and styles. We do not use basic framing glass, instead, we use high-quality acrylic. This acrylic is lightweight, protects against 99% of UV rays and is shatterproof.

ACRYLIC FACE MOUNT

Acrylic face mounting is one of the most impressive and striking ways to display your photographic print. Your print is mounted behind acrylic and the back is covered with specially treated aluminium. This process will completely protect your image from front to back. Your image is mounted edge to edge and creates a beautiful frameless finishes. Each piece is professionally finished with hand-polished edges. We use 4.5mm optically clear, Museum Grade Acrylic which has 99% UV protection. Acrylic is extremely safe to use, as it is shatter resistant and provides exceptional protection from sunlight, weather and temperature extremes. Once hung, your print floats approximately 16mm off the wall. You can be assured that you will receive an absolutely perfect, high-quality finish. The result is truly spectacular.

PRINT ONLY

Of course, you can also select the ‘print only’ option and frame the image as you please. All photos are printed on premium Hahnemuhle Ultra Smooth Photo Rag 305gsm paper giving each image incredible colours and luminosity.
