If you aren’t already aware, Australia’s East Coast is currently pumping courtesy of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The Gold Coast’s superbank from Snapper to Kirra is producing freight train right hand tubes that stretch over a kilometre.
Every man and his dog, from the top pro’s to your average joe, have raced to the Goldy in the hope of scoring the wave of their life. Conditions are currently six to eight foot with groomed offshore winds. The cyclone is expected to intensify in the next couple days and could make land fall later this week. Severe weather warnings have been issued and with the swell continuing to increase, it could become out of control in the coming days.
In the meantime though, if you’re unable to be on the Gold Coast and want to cop a severe case of surf envy, click the link above to check out the action.
