Surf Conservation is hosting an event in Sydney next Friday in order to raise funds for surf ecosystem conservation and community development in West Sumba, Indonesia.
The event, which takes place on 15 November at the Verandah Bar on Elizabeth Street, will feature talks from former world champion Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew and big wave hero and all round legendary waterman Kai Lenny. There will also be food, drinks throughout the afternoon, as well as an auction which aims to help Conservation International’s Surf Conservation program reach its goal of raising $50,000 in 2024 to help protect the wave of Sumba.
Surf Conservation, which forms part of Conservation International, works across the world to maintain the environmental integrity and the ecosystems surrounding different surf breaks. The group aims to encourage sustainable community development through working alongside businesses linked to conservation and surfing.
Tickets to the event are $175 and can be purchased here.
