*UPDATE – TC is all good, a board to head collision meant he needed four stitches but that was all and he was cleared by the doctors.
Australian surfing legend Tom Carroll was rushed to hospital this morning after suffering a head injury while out at North Narrabeen on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
According to the Daily Telegraph, paramedics were called to North Narrabeen Surf Lifesaving Club just after 9am where they treated the two time World Champ and three time Pipe Master for head injuries.
It’s currently unclear as to the nature of the incident and whether he hit his head on his board or the sand. With a NE swell running and a high tide this morning, the two to three foot waves at North Narrabeen were chopped up, but stretched from the alley down to car park rights, with a small shore break on the inside.
Tom, who had only recently recovered from surgery to his glute muscles, has suffered numerous, bad injuries throughout his career. On each occasion he has bounced back, and we sincerely hope it’s no different on this time.
We’ll keep you updated and we wish Tom a speedy recovery.
