Australian surf photographers are historically some of the best in the world. Their compelling imagery continues to give definition and meaning to surfing culture, while inspiring us to keep paddling out in search of ‘that perfect wave’.
Whether they are battling currents or framing up beneath a blazing sun, the photographers work incredibly hard in what is one of photography’s most challenging genres.
The Surfing Australia, Surf Photo of the Year, supported by Tracks, acknowledges the creativity, ingenuity and dedication of all Australian Surf Photographers. Below are the top ten photos from the 2024 submissions, in no apparent order.
