Nathan Florence has been very kind to us of late. First he was generous enough to take us for a paddle at pumping Pipe, and now he’s invited us to join him for a session at very large Waimea Bay … which we can enjoy via the safety of the GoPro attached to the nose of his board.
Surfing The Bay at size has been a sacred surfing ritual for generations, only those with the required skill, or lack of fear and sense, get to experience. Love of hate GoPro’s you can’t deny they give a level of insight that can’t be achieved any other way … the walk down, the paddle out, the lineup banter and the camaraderie.
