The Capitulo Perfeito – a one day invitational tube riding contest which has made it’s home at Carcavelos in Portugal over the past decade – is heading to Desert Point, Lombok next month where eight surfers will compete at Indo’s premier left for a chance at winning 10,000 EUR.

Earlier this year organisers announced that the specialty event would be going global with the contest set to run in Mozambique and Indonesia, as well as its usual home of Carcavelos.

This expansion builds on the project’s first international step in 2024, when event organisers took some of Portugal’s best up and coming surfers, alongside a small selection of international groms, to the Mentawai’s for a week of training and competition.

While both the European and Mozambique edition of ‘the Perfect Chapter’ were called off earlier this year due to conditions not aligning, organisers will be hoping that the endless run of swell Indo has been experiencing this dry season extends into September. The comp only needs one day to run and they have from 1-15 September to pick the eyes out of Desert Point – a grinding, mechanical left hand tube which, on its day, rivals other setups for being the best in Indo.

The invitees are made up of the four finalists from the 2025 Capitulo Carcavelos comp – Balaram Stack,Noah Beschen, Cam Richards and Perdo Calado, plus local wildcards Sulaiman, Usman Trioko and two global wildcards which are yet to be announced.

The winner will take home 10,000 EUR and gain an automatic spot into the 2027 Capiutlo Perfeito at Carcavelos.

Fingers crossed for mother nature to cooperate.
